About Us

Marching Band

The Western Mustang Marching Band is the largest and loudest college marching band in Canada. Known as "The Pride of Western," the band performs at on-campus events and represents Western University in parades and ceremonies. It welcomes students from all faculties and years of study.

Pep Band

The Mustang Pep Band performs at hockey and basketball games during the Winter semester. It offers a spirited atmosphere with less time commitment than the Fall Marching Band. No memorization or marching is required—just enthusiasm and musical talent. All instruments are welcome, and auditions are only required for drum kit, electric guitar, and electric bass.

Instructors

Our instructors are dedicated musicians and educators who guide students in improving their musical performance and marching techniques. They provide individualized support and group instruction to ensure members succeed both musically and personally.

Student Leadership

The band is supported by a strong team of student leaders who handle logistics, communication, and event planning. They serve as mentors and resources for fellow band members, helping to foster a sense of community and teamwork.
